Doncaster Rovers assistant manager Richard O'Kelly said they have not given up on signing Leeds United midfielder Neil Kilkenny.
The 23-year-old is a long-term target for Rovers, who were beaten to his signature by United last year.
"[Leeds manager] Simon [Grayson] said he wasn't for sale at the moment," O'Kelly told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"It's an on-going process, he's the sort of player that fits our bill and a player you have to keep tabs on."
