Duke will provide cover for Frank Fielding at Pride Park

Derby County have signed Hull City keeper Matt Duke on loan for the rest of the season after sending Stephen Bywater on loan to Cardiff City.

Duke, 33, who has joined as cover for first-choice keeper Frank Fielding, played under Rams boss Nigel Clough at Burton Albion.

Clough said: "We know Matt well. He has good experience in the Championship and Premier League, and he's ideal for us."

The former Alfreton Town and Sheffield United man joined Hull in 2004.

Duke began this season as the Championship side's first-choice goalkeeper, but he has not made a league appearance since the end of November.

He arrives as Derby's second-choice keeper Bywater joins Championship rivals Cardiff City on loan until the end of the season.
