Derby County ended their run of five successive home league defeats with a draw against Barnsley at Pride Park.
Rams forward Theo Robinson was denied on several occasions as the Barnsley defence, marshalled by the excellent Jason Shackell, held firm.
Barnsley pushed for a second-half winner and Danny Haynes went close with a low drive.
But Derby held on to secure a first point at home since their goalless draw with Millwall on 3 January.
There was an early moment of danger for Barnsley but their captain Shackell, who had lost two front teeth in the 2-0 home defeat by Norwich, cleared the ball from danger as Robinson threatened.
Derby, who were jeered off by their fans following Tuesday's 3-1 defeat by Doncaster, were reduced to long-range efforts for most of the first-half, but Paul Green should have done better after 38 minutes when he blazed his effort over.
The heavy rain, a key factor in the first half, abated as the sides came out for the second, and Barnsley were the first side to provide something for the fans to sing about.
Paul McShane was unfortunate not to put the visitors ahead when his header from a Kieran Trippier cross bounced just wide.
Haynes produced a fine left-footed drive in the 67th minute but Shaun Barker blocked to preserve the stalemate.
With a little over 10 minutes left, Barnsley's Garry O'Connor had a shot blocked by Derby defender Gareth Roberts and then Nathan Doyle went close for the visitors from long range in injury-time.
