Clough had a frustrating January transfer window

Derby County boss Nigel Clough is still determined to sign two forwards.

The Rams were eager to boost their attacking options in January and were chasing Leicester's Martyn Waghorn and Conor Sammon from Kilmarnock.

But the Foxes were not prepared to let Waghorn go on loan and Sammon joined Premier League side Wigan Athletic.

"We are desperately trying to get two strikers in the emergency loan window," Clough told BBC Radio Derby. "We'll step up our attempts straight away."

The Rams are also hoping to tie up a deal for centre-half Daniel Ayala - a move which has been delayed by an injury to the Liverpool defender.
