Derby County striker Kris Commons says he cannot wait to face Nottingham Forest on 29 December despite being assured of a vitriolic reception.
Reds fan Commons joined the Rams from Forest in 2008 and his move along Brian Clough Way incensed City Ground fans.
Commons told BBC Radio Derby: "It's the game most Derby fans are waiting for. There is nothing better than a derby.
"When the fixtures come out it is the first match I look forward to and I will be all fired up and ready for it."
The former Stoke City player, who was born in Newark and was a boyhood Forest supporter, spent four seasons on Trentside and helped them clinch promotion from League One.
Commons added: "I have quite a few Forest friends and family who will no doubt try to put a bit too much brandy in my Christmas pud or try to give me a dead leg!"
