Derby have completed the signing of Polish international midfielder Przemyslaw Kazmierczak from former European champions FC Porto.
The 26-year-old, who becomes the Rams' 11th signing this summer, arrives at Pride Park on a season-long loan.
"This is a very good deal for Derby County," Rams manager Paul Jewell told the club's official website.
"He has experienced Champions League football and international football as well as playing for Porto."
The 6ft 3in central midfielder made his international debut in 2006 and has scored one goal in nine appearances for his country.
"He is a left-footed central midfielder who can certainly play but at the same time is very strong and very physical," said Jewell.
"I think he is perfectly suited to the English game."
Kazmierczak becomes Derby's second signing of the day, after the capture of Rob Hulse for 1.75m.
