Robbie Savage is not guaranteed a starting place

Derby County manager Paul Jewell has dismissed rumours about Robbie Savage's future at the club after he missed two pre-season matches.

Jewell said the midfielder was not injured but nothing should be read into his omission from the side which won 1-0 at Rushden & Diamonds on Tuesday.

He said several players were left out as he took a strong side to Nene Park.

Jewell has signed 11 new players so far this summer and has warned that no-one is guaranteed a place this season.
