Oster joined Reading from Burnley in 2005

Wales international John Oster has turned down a move to Derby County despite appearing in four of their pre-season friendlies.

Manager Paul Jewell told the club website: "We did offer John something but it wasn't acceptable to him.

"He's got other irons in the fire, so it's one we'll move away from now."

The 29-year-old winger has been without a club since leaving Reading at the end of last season but played a full 90 minutes for Derby last week.

Former Nottingham Forest winger Kris Commons made his first start for the Rams during their 1-0 win at Rushden & Diamonds on Tuesday.
