Darlington have taken Hinckley United full-back Stuart Giddings on trial.

Giddings, 23, will train with the Quakers for a week to allow manager Steve Staunton to assess him.

The former England under-19 international joined the Blue Square North side following his release by Coventry City in September 2008.

Hinckley boss Dean Thomas said: "I wish Stuart all the best and it is an opportunity for him to get back into the full-time game."

During his time at Coventry Giddings made 16 full appearances but a knee ligament injury hampered his progress.
