Both Griffin (left) and Poole helped Stockport to promotion

Darlington have signed midfield duo Adam Griffin and David Poole from League One newcomers Stockport County.

The 23-year-olds played their part in the Hatters' promotion campaign but found themselves surplus to requirements at the end of the season.

Griffin arrived at Edgeley Park in January 2006 having enjoyed spells with Oldham, Chester and Oxford.

Poole was a Manchester United trainee and spent time at Yeovil before his move to Stockport in September 2006.

The pair become Darlington boss Dave Penney's third and fourth signings of the season, following the arrival of Middlesbrough utility man Jason Kennedy and Leyton Orient defender Clayton Fortune.
