Dagenham & Redbridge midfielder Stuart Thurgood faces at least three months on the sidelines after undergoing surgery.
The 28-year-old has gone under the knife to have cartilage in his knee removed and repaired.
The former Gillingham player had been a first team regular until picking up the injury in November.
Daggers boss John Still has a short-term replacement in Adam Miller, who extended his loan spell at the League Two club earlier this week.
