Daggers boss signs new contract

Still's first spell as manager was between 1989 and 1994

Dagenham and Redbridge manager John Still has signed an extension to his contract with the club.

The new deal will keep the former Barnet and Peterborough manager at Victoria Road until 2014.

Still, who is currently the sixth longest-serving manager in English football joined the Essex side in 2004 when they were in the Conference.

He said, "I'm very happy to commit my immediate future to Dagenham and Redbridge Football Club."

The 59-year-old who had a spell at the club in the early 90s rejoined Daggers in April 2004 and took them from the Conference to the top of League Two.

He said: "I want to consolidate all the work we've done so far in getting to where we are and I want us to keep making steps in right direction, applying the same principles we have done and who knows what we can achieve."

Still is the sixth longest-serving manager in England behind, Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester Untied, Arsenal's Arsene Wenger, John Coleman of Accrington Stanley, Everton's David Moyes and Steve Tilson of Southend United.
