The 26-year-old centre-back is Trevor Francis' fourth new recruit of the summer, joining Andrew Johnson, Shaun Derry and Danny Butterfield at Selhurst Park. The deal has been tied up in time for Powell to make his debut in Palace's opening game of the season at Preston on Saturday. "We have been working hard to complete this transfer over the last few days," said Francis. "I am very pleased to have someone of Darren's quality coming into the club ready for the first match of the season." | |
