Danny O'Donnell joined Crewe Alexandra from Liverpool in 2006

Danny O'Donnell and Steven Schumacher will leave Crewe Alexandra when their contracts expire in the summer.

Defender O'Donnell, 24, initially joined the Alex on a season-long loan from Liverpool in 2006 and has made a total of 117 appearances for the club.

Midfielder Schumacher, 26, has played 81 times in his three years at Crewe after signing on a free transfer.

Meanwhile teenage defender Harry Davis has been offered his first professional contract by the League Two outfit.

Manager Dario Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke: "I have had to think about making some changes so that we don't have a repeat of this year, and unfortunately that doesn't involve Steve or Danny."

"They have both been fantastic, but we need a fresh start."
