Crewe assistant Steve Davis enjoys extra responsibility
Steve Davis left non-league Nantwich Town to join Crewe Alexandra
Steve Davis has said he enjoyed taking charge of Crewe Alexandra for their 0-0 draw away at Rotherham on Saturday.
Assistant Davis was given the extra responsibility at the Don Valley Stadium, while boss Dario Gradi was watching potential transfer targets.
"When Dario's there, I'm thinking about decisions anyway and I'll put them to him," Davis told BBC Radio Stoke.
"It's a step in the right direction. I've been more involved in the last couple of months and I've enjoyed it."
Davis spent several years in charge of non-league side Nantwich Town, winning the FA Vase in 2006, before leaving in June to become number two to Gudjon Thordarson at Crewe.
The Alex have now gone three matches unbeaten and Davis is looking to finishing the campaign with a victory over Bradford on Saturday.
"If we can make it four games without losing, that's a great way to end the season," he added. "It's a positive note to build on for next season."
