Gradi is back as manager of the Alex for a third time
Crewe Alexandra boss Dario Gradi says he has only a small amount of money available to bring in new players.
Gradi has resisted the temptation to move into the loan market this week, despite winning only two of the seven games he has been in charge.
He told BBC Stoke: "We are not in a position to spend a lot of money and I'm not sure borrowing a player at this stage can help us."
The Alex are currently 18th in League Two after being relegated last season.
Gradi has returned for his third spell as the Crewe manager and he accepted the criticism voiced by the Alex supporters after his side went down 2-1 against Morecambe.
"The fans were booing at the end and they have every right to voice their opinion, I have no problem with that," he added.
"If I am not wanted I will be told but I want to do this job and believe there is something to work on here. "
Since he took over from Gudjon Thordarson in October, Gradi has made one signing with goalkeeper Steve Phillips arriving on a two-month loan from Bristol Rovers.
