Alex boss wants goal-line cameras

Crewe 2-1 Macclesfield

Crewe boss Gudjon Thordarson has called for goal-line technology to be used after his side were denied a goal in Saturday's 2-1 win over Macclesfield.

Captain Billy Jones' second-half free-kick hit the underside of the crossbar and appeared to bounce over the line.

"My angle wasn't the best but it was quite obvious that it went in and then out," Thordarson told BBC Radio Stoke.

"Football started a long time ago, but we're in the 21st century now and we should introduce those techniques."

The disputed decision did not affect the result, as the Alex went to to secure the win thanks to a late goal from winger Joel Grant.

Thordarson said that it was not the first time this season that a decision had gone against his side, but conceded that the officials are in a difficult position.

"It's very difficult for the officials, but that's the nature of football," added the former Stoke boss.

"There have been more obvious incidents this season than that one which have gone against us."
