We must be focused - Schumacher

Crewe midfielder Steven Schumacher says it is to early for the team to be talking about a return to League One.

Schumacher, who is into his final year of his contract, has warned his team-mates not to get carried away with their start to the season.

He told BBC Radio Stoke: "The atmosphere in the camp became too confident and it's important we keep a level playing field.

"It's down to us to be consistent and the points will come."

The Alex are fifth in League Two having won four of their six league games.

Manager Gudjon Thordarson will use a reserve game against Everton on Tuesday to give some much needed match practice to a number of his fringe players who are coming back from injuries.

Luke Murphy and Ashley Westwood were both named among the substitutes for the last league game but have not played any competitive football since they were injured two weeks ago.

Thordarson has also recalled youngsters Chris Clements and Ajay Leitch-Smith from their successful stint in Iceland playing for IBV, and they will now be challenging for first-team places in his squad.

The two academy graduates will resume full-time training with the first-team squad this week.

And the Crewe boss said: "The lads from Iceland are back with us, they watched the game with Macclesfield. It has been a good experience for them and helped their development. "
