Legzdins eager for games at Crewe

Crewe goalkeeper Adam Legzdins is hungry for more chances in the first team after making his Alex debut in the 2-1 defeat to Blackpool on Tuesday.

The former Birmingham keeper replaced on-loan David Button, but he could not prevent the League Two side going out of the Carling Cup in the first round.

"I'm thoroughly disappointed with the result," Legzdins told BBC Radio Stoke.

"But on a personal level, I was delighted to get out there after what's been a difficult year for me."

Legzdins swapped St. Andrew's for the Alexandra Stadium in the summer of 2008.

He spent time on loan in the Blue Square Premier League with Weymouth at the end of last season as he recovered from injury, and Everton loan keeper John Ruddy established himself as manager Gudjon Thordarson's first choice goalkeeper.

"It's been a frustrating time for me. Coming to a new club, you want to impress, but hopefully I can come out of it a better player."
