Baker has been part of the coaching set-up at Crewe since 1994
Crewe Alexandra assistant manager Neil Baker is set to leave his position for another role at the club, reports BBC Radio Stoke.
Baker has spent 15 years with Crewe, serving as assistant to Dario Gradi, Steve Holland and Gudjon Thordarson, after success as Leek Town manager.
He was a candidate for the managerial vacancy at Burton, but was overlooked for the post for Paul Peschisolido.
Baker achieved great success with non-league Leek.
He led them all the way to the final of the FA Trophy in 1990, and to the verge of the Conference, before his departure to Crewe in 1994.
The Alex had been linked with Notts County assistant David Kevan, but a statement from the Magpies read: "We have had no approach from Crewe for Dave Kevan and I would certainly expect a call if they were interested in him because he is under contract to Notts County.
"Having said that, there's no point in Crewe contacting us because Dave is going no-where. He and Ian McParland have unfinished business at Meadow Lane."
