Gudjon Thordarson has been unhappy with the goals his team have let in.
Crewe Alexandra boss Gudjon Thordarson is backing his two new signings to help stem their worrying flow of goals.
Everton goalkeeper John Ruddy and Blackpool defender Marlon Broomes have arrived on a month's loan.
And Thordarson told BBC Radio Stoke: "Both players are men and that's what I need right now in our position."
League One bottom club Crewe have conceded 58 goals, the worst 'Goals Against' column in the division - nine of them in the last two games.
That was what prompted Thordarson to enter the transfer market.
But the former Icelandic national manager will wait until after Saturday's home game against Tranmere Rovers before deciding if he will make any other additions to his squad before Monday's deadline (1700 GMT).
