Colchester aim to have 'fortress'

Aidy Boothroyd
The U's have won all three home games since Boothroyd took charge

Colchester United boss Aidy Boothroyd wants his side to gain a reputation for being difficult to beat at home.

Last season the U's struggled at the Community Stadium, but this campaign hold the best home record in League One, with five wins in six matches.

"Colchester is a fortress - it has been for 2,000 years," he told BBC Essex.

"But apart from getting the Romans and Boudicca out there, I think we've got to make things as tough as we can for teams to come here."

"However, when you do gain a reputation then the flip-side of that is you get teams come and do what Huddersfield did [on Saturday]," added the U's boss.
