Lambert has guided the U's to 11th since taking charge in October
Colchester boss Paul Lambert has said he is working hard to boost his side.
After extending their loan deal with goalkeeper Jimmy Walker for a further month, Lambert said there could be more additions before the end of January.
"I am trying my best to get people in to give the current group of lads a hand," he confirmed to BBC Essex.
"If it doesn't work then I'll go with the same group of lads until the end of the season - but we are trying our upmost to bring people in."
Walker's loan extension from West Ham was cleared in time for Colchester's 1-1 draw with MK Dons on Monday evening.
The U's boss also confirmed the club had yet to receive any offers from other clubs for his players during the January transfer window.
"No, not one - and that's the way I'd want it to stay," he said.
