Platt joined Colchester from MK Dons in July 2007

Colchester United striker Clive Platt has agreed an improved contract at the League One club.

The U's have not disclosed the terms of Platt's new deal, which the former MK Dons player signed on Thursday.

Chairman Robbie Cowling told the club's website: "We are doing all we can to attract the best players and staff.

"We fended off a �400,000 bid from one of our League One rivals for Clive and now he has committed himself by signing an improved and extended contract."
