Williams is embarking on his third season as the U's manager

Colchester manager Geraint Williams has said they could sign another striker, but only if the right one is available.

Following the signing of forward Akanni-Sunday Wasiu, Williams told BBC Essex he could still strengthen the U's forward line.

"It may be enough it may be that if the right one comes along then we'll add another one," he said.

"Competition is never bad but at the moment we've got competition for places as we are."

Williams added: "If a good one comes along in our price range we might be tempted."

Williams currently has strikers Clive Platt, Scott Vernon, Mark Yeates, Steven Gillespie and Tom Webb available for their League One campaign.
