Colchester United have signed Nigerian striker Akanni-Sunday Wasiu.
The 24-year-old has joined the U's on a one year contract from St Albans, having impressed boss Geraint Williams during a trial with the club.
"He's scored a goal a game in the three games he's played for us so the lad couldn't have done any more," Williams told BBC Essex.
"He's not the finished article but he is a goal threat, physically he can get in behind and has got a decent strike."
Williams added: "We took him up to Loughborough and had a good week of physical training and could see that's not a problem for him.
"We had him in at the end of last year to train with us, we said to him to keep himself fit over the summer and we'd have a look at him pre-season, he certainly did that."
Wiasu added: "I'm happy that Geraint Williams has accepted me in and given me the chance to prove myself.
"I had offers from Crewe and Woking but I've liked the way the players have interacted with me so I'm satisfied to stay with Colchester."

The Nigerian forward has had experience at many levels of the game, both abroad in Poland and Lithuania as well as non-league football in England.
And he admitted he was looking forward to the style of play found in League One.
"They play very aggressive football in the Conference but in league football it is easy for me to play because they understand me and they play on the ground.
"In the Conference they play long-ball, but I like the way they play in Colchester."
Wasiu is aware that he will face stiff competition from the likes of Scott Vernon, Mark Yeates and Steven Gillespie for a place in the U's front-line but is happy to fight for his chance.
"It's normal in a club to have five or six strikers but you have to prove yourself and you have to challenge, if you have to challenge then you will have more strength in you to play."
Wasiu is the sixth summer signing for the U's and played in their latest pre-season win as they beat Chelmsford City 1-0 on Wednesday, thanks to a Steven Gillespie goal.
