Chesterfield manager John Sheridan has returned to former club Oldham Athletic to sign Kelvin Lomax and Deane Smalley on emergency loan deals.
Defender Lomax, 23, and striker Smalley, 22, have both joined on three-month contracts.
The pair go straight into the squad for Tuesday evening's home game against Accrington Stanley.
Lomax will provide cover for Scott Griffiths, whose loan spell from Peterborough ends later this week.
