Harvey believes his style of passing football may be what City need
Chester City manager Jim Harvey says he is delighted to be back in the game.
Harvey was sacked by Forest Green in the summer but replaced Mick Wadsworth at rock-bottom Chester this week.
"It's a challenge when you're not working - so from that point of view I'm glad to be back working again," Harvey told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"I'm under no illusions - this is going to be a tough job. Certainly with the points deduction, it's not going to make it any easier."
"To be actually out working and working with a team again will be great."
Harvey was appointed on Tuesday and becomes City's 11th manager in eight years since owner Stephen Vaughan arrived at the club.
The club are bottom of the Blue Square Premier on minus-13 points, 24 points from safety.
Harvey's previous sides have been known for playing attractive passing football and he says he may have to play that way again to get Chester out of trouble.
"Well that is a bit of a dilemma for me at the moment," he continued. "But at Chester we have 17 players and we're short on the ground really.
"For a team that you'd expect to battle their way out of trouble - I don't think we have that type of player in the squad. So I'm having to assess it quickly whether we can introduce my style of play to them.
"As time goes on I think I'd have to influence them that way - to play football and play their way out."
