Mark Wright's Chester are just one point off the drop zone in League Two
Chester City boss Mark Wright has admitted defeat in his bid to bring new players into his squad to help their League Two relegation battle.
City prised a precious point from Saturday's 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Grimsby - but Wright always had hopes of bringing in new additions.
"There isn't anybody coming in now," Wright told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"What we've got is what we've got. At least we know now. That's the reality. That's what we've got to get on with."
Owner Stephen Vaughan's continued failure to attract new investment to the cash-strapped club has not helped improve finances at the Deva Stadium. And, as a result, the frustrated Wright's hands will have to remain tied.
"It's frustrating because I know what we could do with the ilk of players that I'd sorted out," Wright continued.
"That becomes difficult and frustrating for me as a manager. But I know it's difficult and frustrating for the chairman as well.
"Things could be different. But what we've got now, is what we've got."
Ryan Lowe's late equaliser kept Chester a point clear of Grimsby, who have two games in hand, the first of which they will use up when they head to seemingly doomed Luton Town on Tuesday night.
A draw for the Mariners would be enough to dump City in the bottom two for the first time since August.
Meanwhile, Chester have been awarded the Football League's prestigious Family Excellence award for the 2008/09 season.
In a letter from league chairman Lord Mawhinney, the Deva Stadium was adjudged as having a "family friendly atmosphere".
The award is based on the quality of City's ticket office staff, efficient use of public address facilities and helpful, friendly advice from club personnel, stewards and car park attendants.
