Former Bristol Rovers midfielder Craig Disley is in talks with League Two side Cheltenham Town.
"He's out of contract and he's a good central midfield player," boss Martin Allen told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
"He's powerful, strong, scores goals from midfield and, yes we have been in discussions with him," he added.
Disley, 27, joined Rovers in June 2004 and made 242 appearances, scoring 27 goals, before being released by the club at the end of the season.
