New signing Mark Hudson is hoping he can help Charlton with a promotion push next season.

He told the club's website: "Obviously I need to get in the team first, so I've got to work hard pre-season."

The Addicks finished 11th last season and the former Crystal Palace defender added: "We've got to look for promotion - that has to be the aim.

"The team just missed out on the play-offs so they just need that little bit to help them this time."
