Charlton have signed Crystal Palace centre-back Mark Hudson on a three-year deal for free, as well as handing Matt Holland a new one-year contract.

Hudson, 26, was out of contract at Selhurst Park after only missing one Championship game all season for the Eagles as they reached the play-offs.

Boss Alan Pardew told the club website: "He was brilliant last season. I'm absolutely overjoyed with his signing."

Midfielder Holland, 34, was the Addicks player of the season this year.
