Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott has revealed that the club will offer defender Peter Murphy a new contract.
The 30-year-old scored in Carlisle's 1-0 victory over Brentford in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final.
Abbott told BBC Cumbria: "He's earned an extension to the deal he's on so hopefully we can sit down and try and do that over the next fortnight.
"If he can keep his performances right then he goes on for as long as he keeps at that level, and that's down to him."
Murphy joined the club in 2001 from Blackburn Rovers and made his 400th appearance last month.
