Marc-Antoine Gbarssin extends Carlisle United deal
Gbarssin has made one substitute appearance for Carlisle so far
Carlisle United boss Greg Abbott has confirmed that midfielder Marc-Antoine Gbarssin will remain at the club until the end of the current season.
Gbarssin, 26, signed an initial one-month deal in December, but has now secured a longer stay at Brunton Park.
"It looks like we are going to keep Marc around to the end of the season because he gives us that cover," Abbott told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"He creates pressure on the others to keep consistently performing."
Abbott added: "Financially it is not a great deal to the club, it is an opportunity for him in England and if at the end of it we decide we need better and he wants to go somewhere else in England he can.
"For the time being is he giving us that strength and depth."
Gbarssin joined the Cumbrians following his departure from Danish side FC Fredericia.
He started his career at home-town club Bordeaux and has also had spells at Grenoble, Royal Antwerp, SK Lombeek and RE Virton.
