Carlisle boss Greg Abbott reveals Gary Madine interest
Madine made nine substitute appearances for Coventry last season
Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott has admitted that the club have received interest in highly-rated young striker Gary Madine.
Madine, 20, has scored 13 times in 25 league and cup appearances this season.
"I would be worried if teams weren't enquiring about him." Abbott said. "He's playing very well,
"We've got to prepare ourselves that there might be a bid for Gary. If there is then we'll discuss it with him and with the club and see where it goes."
Gateshead-born Madine is a product of the club's youth system and has had loan spells with Rochdale, Chesterfield and Coventry City.

He signed a two-year contract extension at Brunton Park at the start of this season.
"He's the youngest centre forward leading a line in the division and he's got quite a few goals.
"I'm not going to drum-up any advertising that Gary is for sale because he's not for sale - but everyone is for sale [at the right price]." Abbott added.
Meanwhile, incoming Bermudan striker Nahki Wells is unlikely to immediately figure in the first-team when he signs a short-term deal with the Cumbrians next month.
The 19-year-old will sign until the end of the season when he returns to the UK on New Year's Day.
Abbott told BBC Radio Cumbria: "He has not come as a first-team player right now. He has come as one that is maybe further down the line that we hope can develop and the deal reflects that."
