Grella has scored four goals in 30 appearances for Leeds United

Carlisle United have extended the loan spell of Leeds United forward Mike Grella until 3 January.

The 23-year-old former United States Under-20 international has scored twice in six appearances following his initial move to Brunton Park.

"Mike has proved an excellent addition to the dressing room and squad since he arrived," Carlisle boss Greg Abbott told the club website.

"He brings something different and we think that there's still more to come."

Abbott added: "We're very grateful to Leeds United for allowing us to keep him longer and hopefully he can benefit from getting regular first team football.

Grella joined Leeds in February 2009, but has been limited to just two appearances this season.
