Abbott is hoping to bring another first-team coach into the club
Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott says he "can't wait" until the January transfer window opens.
Abbott has drawn-up a list of targets he would like to bring in to Brunton Park next month as he looks to strengthen his squad.
"I'm a long way down the line in terms of players we want in and players we'd let go to other clubs to get games," Abbott told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"All that matters is whether the figures are right," he said.
Abbott has indicated that players will have to be moved out of the club, either on loan or on a permanent basis, to enable him to bring new players in.
"The board have said there's money available. What we've got to do now is improve the squad and we've got January to do that.
"You've got to pick the right players, at the right level for the right amounts of money.
"We've got a terrific list of players we want and we've got to make them happen."
The Cumbrians boss, who was given the role on a permanent basis last week after a spell in caretaker charge, has praised the club's board in his attempts to improve the squad.
"The board have been terrific," he said. "They've said 'go and do what you've got to do and we'll support you.'"
"I've shown the list of players and they're really pleased with the names we've come up with.
"Some of them will cost us money but they've said we can go for them."
Abbott has confirmed that he is hoping to bring another first-team coach into the club to work alongside him and Dennis Booth.
