Cambridge United's Adam Miller feared 'horrific' injury
Miller has made five starts for Cambridge this season
Cambridge United midfielder Adam Miller has revealed his initial fears over the ankle injury he sustained against Eastbourne on Monday.
Miller damaged ligaments but is yet to learn the full extent of his injury.
He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I couldn't feel my foot but there was so much pain.
"I thought I would look down at my foot and my studs would be facing me. I thought it was one of those horrific, bone breaking ones."
He continued: "It worried me at the time. I'm not going to try and man it up, but I was really scared."
The former Ipswich trainee arrived at the Abbey Stadium from Gillingham in the summer, forming an immediate partnership with captain Paul Carden in central midfield.
But Miller insists there is more to come.
"In my mind I don't think I've had the impact I should have," he added.
"I've been able to show the hardworking, defensive side of my game, but I came to the club to be more creative and to make things happen.
