Brabin has recently completed the Uefa A Licence course

Cambridge United manager Gary Brabin insists he is not going to sell any of the club's strikers in order to free up transfer funds.

The U's currently have four forwards and cannot bring in any players until they cut the wage bill.

Brabin told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I'd love to keep four strikers. I think we're lucky enough to have four quality strikers.

"The squad I've got at the moment is not about to change."

Winger Courtney Pitt and midfielder Jon Challinor have both been transfer-listed to help make funds available. But the U's boss is still on the look out for players he can buy when the time is right.

"We're watching players and talking to managers and agents and that never stops. But as the situation is at the moment we can't bring anyone in," he said.

"It's not panic stations. We've got a squad of players that were good enough to finish second in the league last year, so we've got the nucleus of a good side."

Meanwhile, Brabin has completed the Uefa A licence coaching badge course in Wales.
