Rendell's on-off move to the Abbey was finally completed on Monday
Scott Rendell feels no pressure to repay the Cambridge United board for the investment they have made in him.
In order to secure the 22-year-old on loan from Peterborough until the end of the season, the U's directors were forced to dig into their own pockets.
Forward Rendell told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I know that if I go out there and perform how I can do, we'll have no problems.
"I'm confident in my ability to score goals, so there's no pressure."
With the U's feeling the pinch during the current economic downturn, the board have made the decision to fund the Rendell move personally.
I've been pretty calm about it all. These things happen, but I was disappointed when it all fell through the first time

Since returning to the Abbey on loan back in November, Rendell has been involved in a bizarre tug of war between Peterborough and Cambridge over his future.
"I've been pretty calm about it all to be honest," he said. "These things happen, but I was disappointed when it all fell through the first time."
Cambridge are currently fifth in the Blue Square Premier and Rendell says reaching the end of season play-offs is the absolute minimum they should be aiming to achieve this season.
"We need to pick up our form to catch Burton at the top," he added. "But, at the very least, we need to make the play-offs.
"We definitely have enough quality in the squad to do it. Hopefully I can pick up where I left off."
Rendell will be hoping return to the U's starting line-up for his first game since Christmas when they go to Wrexham on Thursday night (1945 GMT).
