Potter has been an ever present for the U's so far this season
Cambridge United goalkeeper Danny Potter believes his side must start taking their chances if they are to mount a serious promotion challenge.
A flu-ravaged U's side claimed a point at Torquay on Saturday, but have scored just two goals in four matches.
Potter told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We've got to take confidence from the Torquay result.
"But we're still not overly happy because we had the chances to win the game and we haven't taken them."
Whilst the U's have struggled into front of goal, their strength has been at the back.
Potter says he can have no complaints over the way the defence have been playing.
"That's our 11th clean sheet in 22 games so it's being going fantastically well in that at respect," he said.
The U's could again be short on numbers at Burton Albion on Tuesday owing to illness.
Rory McAuley and Josh Coulson both came in for rare starts in defence on Saturday and may continue in the side if Wayne Hatswell and Dan Gleeson are not deemed fit.
