Cambridge United striker Daniel Chillingworth is set to miss the first six weeks of the new season because of an ankle injury. X-rays have confirmed that he sustained ligament damage during Monday night's 1-0 friendly loss against Leicester.
The 25-year-old striker limped off 19 minutes into the game after taking a heavy knock.
Physio Greg Reid said: It takes a lot of force to damage the deltoid ligament so it is quite a significant injury."
