Skarz has started every league game for the Shakers this season
Bury left-back Joe Skarz says that the Shakers are beginning to gel after an influx of players over the summer.
The 21-year-old was the club's first signing of a summer which saw seven new players arrive on permanent deals and Tom Lees and Nicky Ajose join on loan.
Skarz told BBC Radio Manchester: "We had a good pre-season and it seems to be working well at the minute.
"We were a new team, there were a lot of new faces so it was obviously going to take a bit of time to gel."
He added: "When you're a new player it takes a bit of time to know what players want the ball, where and what their strengths and weaknesses are."
Skarz joined the club after leaving Huddersfield where he progressed through their youth system and has also had loan spells at Shrewsbury and Hartlepool.
The full-back was part of Saturday's 3-0 home win over Accrington Stanley, which saw captain Ryan Lowe grab two of the goals.
"In the changing room and around the place he's a really top bloke," said Skarz. "He's a really experienced player and passes on advice to younger lads.
"We've got a very young squad here and Ryan Lowe and Efe Sodje are the two most experienced players. It's vital to have that in the team."
