Bury midfielder Michael Jones has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2011.

The 21-year-old joined the Shakers in the summer, following his release by Tranmere Rovers, and has played in all 26 of their League Two games.

He told BBC Radio Manchester: "Coming here, the manager has put a lot of faith in me and hopefully I am starting to repay that now on the pitch.

"You can always get better and I am always looking to improve."

He added: "Day-in day-out, I am always looking at different parts of my game so it's great, I enjoy learning and I only want to get better."
