Yates has had previous spells with Crewe and Halifax

Burton Albion have completed the signing of Morecombe defender Adam Yates on a one-month loan.

The 25-year-old former England C player had been with the Shrimps since 2006 and made 44 appearances for the League Two side last year.

"We needed to get someone in to help us out whilst our numbers are down," boss Nigel Clough told local newspaper Burton Mail.

"Adam plays on the right and opens up another option for us at the back."

Yates has been handed the number 21 shirt at the Pirelli Stadium.
