I can outscore rivals - Bristol Rovers' Will Hoskins
Hoskins is keen to take the penalties for Rovers
Bristol Rovers newcomer Will Hoskins wants to become the top scorer in League One this season.
The former Watford striker was signed on a two-year deal by Rovers boss Paul Trollope and is confident he can boost his new club's promotion challenge.
The 24-year-old told BBC Radio Bristol: "I want to get a full season under my belt and my aim is to be the league's top goal-scorer.
"I've scored goals in this league and I don't see why I can't do it again."
The 24-year-old hit the net 23 times in 73 league games for Rotherham before joining Watford in January 2007.
I have that belief and I think that's what everyone wants to hear
Bristol Rovers newcomer Will Hoskins
Nottingham-born Hoskins scored 15 goals in 22 starts for the Yorkshire club during 2006/07.
He was released by the Hornets this summer after bagging three goals in 18 appearances - 13 as a substitute - in the Championship last season.
"I have that belief and I think that's what everyone wants to hear," he added. "If I didn't have that belief they would be a bit worried."
Hoskins also has his eye on the penalty-taking duties at Rovers. "I'm here to score the goals and, if that's my role [taking penalties] I can hopefully put them away."
Ricky Lambert was League One's top scorer in Rovers' colours in 2008/09 with 29 but left for Southampton that summer.
