Trollope demands home improvement

Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope is looking for his side to take their recent away form into upcoming back-to-back home fixtures.

Rovers, who have taken four points from their last two away games, entertain Colchester on Saturday, followed by next Tuesday's visit of Cheltenham.

"After four points on the road, these two home games are good for us.

"If we keep the form going we should see ourselves move to a comfortable mid-table position," said Trollope.

"Our form has been OK," he told the club's website. "But we know it can be improved.

"We've had a few good wins, but also a few defeats that we know we should have done better in."

Due to two successive postponements, last Saturday's win over Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road was the Pirates' first game of 2009.

And, coming on top of their goalless draw at Northampton in their final game of 2008, Trollope admits that it was good to begin the year with another positive away result.

"With the win under our belt," added Trollope, "we can look to move further up the table in the next few weeks."
