Duffy delighted to end drought

Darryl Duffy
Duffy has scored four goals in 25 appearances this season

Bristol Rovers striker Darryl Duffy said he was delighted to get his first goal since August in Saturday's 2-1 away victory against Leyton Orient.

The 24-year-old scored Rovers' winner in the 79th minute after Jeff Hughes had cancelled out Adam Boyd's strike.

Duffy told BBC Radio Bristol: "It's absolutely massive because I've not had the best of seasons.

"I like to score goals and it's not happened this season so this is absolutely fantastic."

Duffy moved to the Memorial Ground for 100,000 from Swansea City in July.

He has appeared as a substitute in each of Rovers' last ten games but said he hopes to have done enough to force his way back into the starting line-up.

"I came here to play games and score goals and I've not really done either," said Duffy.

"It's been frustrating but hopefully now the team can go on a run and I can get some goals along the way."
