Torn cartilage sidelines Coles

Danny Coles
Danny Coles scored at both ends against Leyton Orient on Saturday

Bristol Rovers defender Danny Coles will be sidelined for between six and eight weeks with a torn cartilage.

The 26-year-old had an eventful game in Saturday's 2-1 win over Leyton Orient, scoring at both ends before going off with the knee injury.

Rovers first-team coach Paul Trollope is not expected to make a loan signing.

Trollope told BBC Radio Bristol: "We've got Byron [Anthony] and Hints [Craig Hinton] who've done well when they've played so we're confident of those."

Trollope added: "Stevie Elliott's still not nailed on for Saturday due to a calf injury.

"We are not going to take any risks, we do not want to lose him for four to six weeks. It may be too soon for Saturday."
