Haskins won the Commonwealth flyweight title two years ago |
Lee Haskins is the new British super flyweight champion after beating Andy Bell in a gruelling 12-round encounter in Wigan on Friday night. The Bristol fighter won by a unanimous decision, after the judges scored it 116-113, 115-114 and 116-113. Former Commonwealth flyweight champion Haskins now hopes to defend the belt in his home city. His manager Chris Sanigar told BBC Radio Bristol: "I'll do all I can to bring the first defence to Bristol." He added: "It's a shame we haven't got a purpose-built venue but we'll sort things out and we'll get the fight here."
